Safety

Tennessee School for the Deaf campus is a secure facility with controlled access and a 24-hour guard. TGA cottages feature a separate entry system similar to what you would find on any college campus, ensuring that only those who need access to the cottages have access.

In addition, members of the University of Tennessee Police Department are fully trained and oriented to the TGA campus area and are available to respond immediately should a need arise.

Medical care for TGA students is provided at the infirmary on the Tennessee School for the Deaf campus and when needed by the Student Health Services Clinic at the University of Tennessee or local hospitals. In addition, students will have access to the UT Counseling Center at no charge should psychological issues need to be addressed.
